BRIEF

Students were invited to create a compelling 25m² pop-up to address The Body Shop’s sustainability objectives. The brief referred to The Activist Makers’ Workshop, the retailer’s latest store format that brings products and people’s stories to life in store and encourages interaction.
Designs had to be sustainable from end-to-end, offer an immersive brand experience and convey ‘raw and real’ through the materials palette. The structures needed to be modular, durable and transportable, with digital interactions such as mobile payment supporting and enhancing the physical experience. Students were also asked to consider an end-of-life strategy for the structure.
The aim is to build loyalty among smart, ethically engaged women aged up to 35, who make up The Body Shop’s customer base.
We have been impressed with the passion and calibre of the participating students. Amplified by the challenge of a virtual briefing, the students delivered outstanding work which triggered some great debates.
